About Us

The Community Arts Academy (CAA), is a division of the Buffalo State School of Arts and Humanities.

Our mission is to nurture student creativity, critical thinking, and applied skills through joyful cultural experiences in the arts and humanities.

Designed by Buffalo State faculty, CAA classes and workshops are researched-based and provide students with engaging hands-on experiences rooted in the most contemporary pedagogical approaches. Exceptional instruction is provided by Buffalo State faculty, graduates, and advanced student interns teaching under faculty supervision.

CAA offers courses in visual and digital arts, music, dance and creative writing for children, birth through grade 12. We can tailor programming for homeschool groups and organizations off-site. Reach out to us to pursue other instructional options by contacting Anthony Chase, Assistant Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities via e-mail ( or telephone (716-878-6326).

We are grateful for the opportunity to work with your child and hope you will share this Buffalo State cultural resource with a friend.
