Buffalo State's School of Arts and Humanities has a longstanding commitment to celebrating the accomplishments of our faculty, staff, and students. Many hundreds of individuals have contributed to the excellence of the School of Arts and Humanities. This roster of past award recipients represents a litany of Buffalo State legends. We continue to thank them for making us the school we are today!
The Chancellor's Awards for Excellence are system-level honors conferred to acknowledge and provide system-wide recognition for consistently superior professional achievement and to encourage the ongoing pursuit of excellence.
These programs underscore SUNY’s commitment to sustaining intellectual vibrancy, advancing the boundaries of knowledge, providing the highest quality of instruction, and serving the public good.
Through these awards, SUNY publicly proclaims its pride in the accomplishment and personal dedication of its instructional faculty, librarians, and professional staff across its campuses. The awards provide SUNY-wide recognition in five categories: Faculty Service, Librarianship, Professional Service, Scholarship and Creative Activities, and Teaching.
President's Awards for Excellence are given annually to those individuals who make significant and extraordinary contributions to the university.

The College Council Medal is awarded by the Buffalo State College Council to individuals in recognition of their leadership and service to Buffalo State and the Western New York community.
