Performing its inaugural concert season in fall 2009, the Buffalo State Philharmonia is under the direction of Joseph Peters. Maestro Peters assumed the position of Music Director in Fall of 2015 following the retirement of Paul Ferington.
This first concert of the year, features Holly Bewlay, associate professor of music, in Mozart's Exsultate jubilate. The program also includes Brahms' Academic Festival Overture and the Symphony No. 92 of Franz Joseph Haydn, one of music's wittiest composers.
The concert is free and open. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The Philharmonia is composed of Buffalo State music majors, non-music majors, faculty, area professional musicians, local music educators, and community enthusiasts who are committed to performing the symphonic repertoire at a high level.
