The Buffalo State Wind Ensemble will perform under the direction of Dr. Rick Fleming. The concert will feature Harry Fackelman, alto saxophone.
Harry Fackelman joined the Buffalo State faculty in 2014. He teaches saxophone and coaches chamber music. A founding member of the Amherst Saxophone Quartet, the group toured for nearly three decades, recorded nine CD's, and made appearances on The Tonight Show and CBS Sunday Morning. Many of the ASQ’s concerts included his arrangements from Baroque to Ragtime and Jazz.
Currently, Fackalman is performing and recording with diverse groups and continues to be a part of the woodwind section of many theater and concert touring productions in Buffalo.
The Buffalo State Wind Ensemble is one of the premiere performing ensembles on campus. The Wind Ensemble performs works in the traditional wind band repertoire as well as contemporary works of various styles. The ensemble endeavors to expose students to the artistry and performance demands of large ensemble performance. The Wind Ensemble can be heard in performance twice each semester and often performs additional concerts and clinics at high schools throughout Western and Central New York.
