The Department of Design at SUNY Buffalo State is offering an exciting course to high school students interested in 3D animation and video game design. Working with current undergraduate students, alumni and professors from SUNY Buffalo State’s Department of Design, high school students will learn the basics of digital imagery, animation, 3D modeling and animation as well as the basics of video game level design. The course will primarily use software that students can learn and practice on with their home computers. In addition to basic software training, students will learn about portfolio development and participate in discussions about creativity and design. At the conclusion of the course, students will receive a certificate of completion from SUNY Buffalo State and can attend an exhibition of their work. The course costs $130 per student, and is offered once in the Fall and once in the Spring. The class size is limited to 15 students and will be filled on a first-come-first-serve basis.
